Sick, twisted and spot-on. Sick, twisted, and heh.

posted Tuesday, 17 October 2006
This I know I like.  Sick and twisted and really funny.  Reaching out to drivers to get them to slow down, turn off the phone, and not kill people.

This I can't decide if I like or if I'm totally offended.  Not Chosen, Just Posin'g is a blog by a guy who is an editor at a Jewish magazine, but he's not Jewish.  That's fine.  Except he said he was in the interview and now he's passing as a Jew.  Heh?  I know lots of non-Jews with positions at Jewish organizations.  While it helps to be Jewish if you are editing a Jewish magazine, a good writer is a good writer.  So that he is passing... heh.

AND

He got a book deal.  So he (and I'm just assuming it is a man, cause the first time I saw the blog, I thought it was Fake Jake and not Fake Jew) is now writing a novel about passing as a Jew and the hilarity that ensues.  And part of me gets all jealous, "I wrote a book about learning how to be a Jew!"  and a liberal does of WTF?

AND

It kind of makes me giggle.  Conflict.

Thanks for voicing your opinion. I always wonder what people think about the blog...

No book deal yet, just an agent.

I didn't necessarily say I was Jewish to get the job. The Publisher asked me "So what kind of Jew....?" I said Sephardic. That was the lie. Anyway, this job would be far less interesting if I couldn't write about it everyday. I'm just drawing humor from regular everyday events. As for being offended, no reason for that. I pass no judgements (on religion anyhow, personality defects are another story). It's all Jewish love over here. Hope you continue to read.

Thanks for coming by Fake Jew, but I don't think you get to declare yourself not-offensive.

I mean, could Al Jolson declare himself not-offensive to black people?

There is something funny about your project, yeah, but there is something disturbing about it too.

Like I said, I'm torn. I also am trying to avoid lashon hara, so I'm watching what I say.
